3rd Day in Ningbo, China

Time : Morningish

Woke up and had breakfast, cintan noodles this time, haha. Spent the day relaxing at home and watching Big Fish with the kids. Planned to go out to eat dinner too. By 5pm it was already starting to get dark and we made a move to the makan place at around 6 30-ish.

Time : 7:00PM

Reached our destination, a coffee house in a 2 storey building. Here in Ningbo, coffee houses are very common, and they look like a cross between TCC and a restaurant(like Crystal Jade), pretty interesting stuff. Looks very posh, however when we went, there were no one else except us. Leaving the entire 'coffe house' to ourselves, we were even seated in a separate private room haha. Anyways we ordered our food and it took damn long for it to arrive, with one person's set meal coming after another, and not all at once. Probably only a single cook and frying pan? haha. Anyways took some pics in it and goofed around with the family.

Time: 8-9:00 PM

We proceeded to walka round the neighbourhood, coming across a cake shop (looks like a regular cake shop in singapore), where we bought some cakes to munch on. Beside this cake shop was a medicinal/herb shop. On closer inspection of the goods they c arry, we found out in a glass cabinet near their counter lay pacakets of stuff with naked couples on it hugging each other in such a way their privates weren't exposed. There were tons of them and in full view of anyone who came close tot he counter, haha damn funny, their versions of viagra i guess. Every couple on the packets were caucasians though, which i found rather amusing.

After that lovely encounter, we proceeded to this pretty big hair salon. My mom had told me about a place where they would wash your hair, massage you from head to hands, and even dig your ears and this was it. Entered the shop, most of the employees looked rather ahbengish, with dyed red hair with various 'trendy' patterns, all wearing a same suit of yellow uniform with chinese words emblazened across the back. I was thinking ' holy shit ah bengs touching my hair and massaging me?' weird! haha neways yes, it did happen and i was tended to by a 16-18 yr old ahbeng looking red haired worker. First came the shamppoing and massage of the head, then came the washing. Ear digging came next, and was it weird. PLaced a cotton bud in my ear and twirled it around. That was basically it haha. Proceeded to massage my back and arms and hands. Felt damn awkward while undergouing this treatment as i have never done anything of the sort, especially not by dodgy looking red haired ahbengs! haha. But it was certainly an experience and i pretty much enjoyed it.

Time: 10:00PM

Went to a nearby supermarket, 2 storeys, looked like NTUC fairprice. It was closing though and we hurried to get the goodies we wanted. Following that, walked home. Passed by a shop wwhere my mom and kids would buy fried mee hoon and being the 'always hungry' family, we bought ourselves a couple of packets of them. haha pigged out when we reached home. Thats pretty much it, hung out in the room and surfed the net for a bit before retiring to bed
